- 1 loaf French bread or Italian bread
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix butter, olive oil, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper until combined.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves of the bread.
- Sprinkle the bread with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Place the bread in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- For an extra crispy top, broil for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra cheesiness, add a mix of cheddar and provolone.
- Use garlic powder if fresh garlic is not available.
- To make it spicy, add crushed red pepper flakes.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven for best texture.
